WEST ORANGE, N.J.
ZRG Partners, Inc. has announced the final findings for 2014 with their fourth quarter Global Life Sciences Hiring Index. Despite a small drop from Q3, 2014 ended with the highest posting since the Hiring Indexes start in 2010.
Regardless of the slight dip in hiring all four quarters posted a score of at least 90 on the index, numbers not reached since 2011. Manufacturing quarter-to-quarter hiring slowed by 16%, while the Outsourcing Services sector, in particular, was 21% higher from the same period in 2013. Medical Devices came in 12% higher over 2013 and Sales and Marketing had scored its second highest rating since 2010!
ZRG European President and Global Practice Head of Life Sciences, Adam El Din said: “Over the last few years — with high unemployment and little competition for talent — in many cases companies could take their time and still land top candidates. As the pace of change in business and the competition for talent increases, companies will have no choice but to revisit “speed of hire” approaches and tools in order to land candidates that are in high demand. Speed is essential to remain competitive.”
More insight for 2015 was shared by David Fortier, Managing Director, “At ZRG, our expectation for 2015 is continued overall hiring growth at historically high levels. The number of programs under development always far exceeds the number of product approvals. This makes demonstrated success an uncommon characteristic and creates demand for those executives with specific and unique technical skills who have contributed to bringing innovative therapies to market for the benefit of patients. The competition for such executives is and will continue to be fierce going forward.”
